Srinivasa Ramanujan was an Indian mathematician who made significant contributions to number theory, mathematical analysis, and infinite series. Despite limited formal education, his work amazed the world and gained recognition from leading mathematicians like G. H. Hardy.
In 1913, Ramanujan began correspondence with Hardy at Cambridge University, which marked the beginning of his international recognition. He developed the Ramanujan Prime, mock theta functions, and innovative formulas for calculating π, which continue to be influential in mathematics today. Tragically, he passed away on April 26, 1920, at the age of 32, leaving behind a legacy of unmatched brilliance.
